Bill Gates' 119m hydrogen fuel-cell yacht Feadship 821 on sea trials

The 118.8-metre superyacht Feadship 821 has been spotted on her sea trials in the North Sea, following her launch in the spring of 2024. With a delivery date of 2025, the superyacht is on the market with Edmiston.

Once delivered, Feadship 821 is set to become the world's first hydrogen fuel-cell superyacht, as well as the largest yacht built by the Dutch shipyard to date. Construction on the project kicked off in 2019, while the Feadship 821 was transported to her final build hall in April 2022. As part of Feadship's commitment to develop "net zero" yachts by the year 2030, Feadship 821 is the first of their yachts to be powered by a pure green hydrogen fuel source.

Boasting the title as the largest motor yacht launched in the Netherlands, with a longer length than the 118-metre Feadship 1010 superyacht Launchpad, Feadship 821 features exterior design and interior design by RWD, and owners representation by Edmiston.

Feadship 821 spans five decks above the waterline and two below, and is fitted with the most hull openings of any Feadship creation to-date, in the form of 14 slide-out balconies, five shell doors, and seven opening platforms. The superyacht's entire aluminium superstructure was built by Bayards Yacht Structures.

With a large volume of 7,247 GT, the superyacht is capable of sleeping as many as 30 guests across a 12 stateroom layout. Developed to accommodate a family, Feadship 821 has an owner's deck located above the bridge deck, sitting 37-metres above water.
