79m Lürssen superyacht Rocinante on sea trials following extensive refit

The 78.5-metre Lürssen superyacht Rocinante has been spotted on sea trials, following an extensive refit at the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen, Germany.

Rocinante visited the Lürssen shipyard in September 2023 and has been there for around 10 months. Details surrounding her refit details have been kept tightly under wraps, with the first images of her seen in June 2024 when she was spotted out of the shed.

Previously known as TV, Rocinante was purchased by her current owner in 2017, who told Norwegian news company Verdens Gang, that she was named after Don Quixote's horse, but that she also pays homage to the Sci-Fi series, The Expanse, where a spaceship bears the same name.

Rocinante was launched in 2008 and features exterior design and naval architecture by Espen Øino International, with interior design penned by Alberto Pinto. With a spacious interior volume of 2,334 GT, Rocinante is capable of hosting as many as 18 guests across nine staterooms, while separate accommodation is also available for up to 25 crew members.

Performance-wise, Rocinante is powered by twin Caterpillar engines that propel her to a cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of 18 knots.
