New York Duplex 107 Stories Above Central Park Lists for $175 Million

The listing makes it the second-priciest home on the market in the five boroughs.

Towering 107 stories above the buzzing streets of New York City, a duplex penthouse has hit the market for an astronomical $175 million.

Its debut on Tuesday brings the number of rarified nine-figure listings on the market in the city to a grand total of two—both at Central Park Tower, the 1,550-foot-tall Billionaires' Row skyscraper from Extell Development that is the tallest condominium on the planet.

The hyperbolic building's $250 million listing is aiming to achieve the country's highest-ever home sale price.

This $175 million offering ranks as New York City's second-most expensive listing, and one of the priciest available for purchase in the U.S.

The unit spans 12,557 square feet, and is loaded with high-end features and amenities, but none more impressive than its views, which through massive floor-to-ceiling windows take in everything from Central Park, the city skyline and the East River to the Hudson River and far beyond, according to the listing with Janice Chang of Douglas Elliman.

A private elevator opens up into the home's central gallery which in turn leads to the main living rooms. That includes a grand salon with double-height ceilings, patterned wood floors and tall columns; a chef's kitchen with custom cabinetry; an open breakfast area and family room; a conservatory; a library and a media room.

A sweeping staircase leads to the upper floor, which is where five en-suite bedrooms can be found, including the primary retreat, which boasts a private sitting room, dual dressing rooms and spa-like bathrooms.
