Barely two months after it first popped up for sale, the longtime Hidden Hills estate of the late and legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully has quickly sold to a local couple. Records show the buyers are real estate developer Cary Lefton and wife Marla, who have long owned a smaller Hidden Hills tennis court estate just a quick jog away.

Originally listed for $15 million, the property - referred to affectionately as "Home Plate" - went to the Leftons for $14 million. That's $1.6 million more than the legendary Dodgers icon, who died in April at age 94, paid for the place almost 14 years ago, way back in spring 2009.

Arguably one of Hidden Hills' most famous residents, Scully was long known as just "Vinny" to his nearest neighbors, and lived a quiet life in the guard-gated community. The New York native and his late wife Sandi, who passed away in 2021, could often be seen during their frequent walks through the area.

Perched atop the prestigious Ashley Ridge enclave, on a parcel spanning nearly 2 acres, the French country-style structure was built in in 2003, and includes a two-story main house and detached guesthouse - for a total of seven bedrooms and nine baths in a little more than 11,600 square feet. There's also a spacious cobblestone motorcourt flanked by garage bays for six cars.

Among the highlights: a fireside living room resting beneath a vaulted ceiling, marble-clad wet bar, wood-paneled library with a fireplace and formal dining room bathed in red. A family room with another wet bar and fireplace adjoins the gourmet kitchen, which is outfitted with dual islands, high-end stainless appliances and a walk-in pantry, while the upstairs master retreat sports a private terrace overlooking the grounds.
